Protecting and supporting vulnerable population during Pandemics

Since older age is associated with declining health, older adults are traditionally more likely to experience diseases and impairments. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, this becomes even worse: the mortality rates for older adults aged 75+, for example, is almost 50%, and they are more likely to suffer from a prolonged quarantine due to psychological distress and lack of movement. This makes the management of elderly care an essential part of the efforts to mitigate the present pandemic and save lives.
